I Build LinkedIn Newsletters That 3X Engagement in 2026

How to Start a LinkedIn Newsletter (step-by-step Guide)

Follow this step-by-step guide to start a LinkedIn Newsletter (step-by-step guide). Each step builds on the previous one – complete them in order for best results.

Step 1: Enable Creator Mode on your linkedin profile

Go to your LinkedIn profile, scroll to the Resources section below your intro card, and click Creator mode: Off. Toggle it on and select 3-5 topic hashtags that represent your content focus. Creator Mode is required to access the LinkedIn Newsletter feature.

Step 2: Navigate to Newsletter creation

From your LinkedIn homepage, click Write an article in the post composer at the top of your feed. In the article editor, click the Manage drop-down at the top right and select Create a newsletter.

Step 3: Name and describe your newsletter

Enter a newsletter name (keep it under 60 characters and keyword-rich), write a description (under 200 characters) explaining what subscribers will receive and how often, and upload a cover image (recommended size: 1920×1080 pixels). Click Done.

Step 4: Set your publishing cadence

Choose a frequency: daily, weekly, biweekly, or monthly. Be honest about what you can sustain. Weekly is the most common cadence for successful LinkedIn Newsletters. Consistency matters more than frequency – subscribers who signed up for weekly content will churn if you post erratically.

Step 5: Write and publish your first edition

Click Write newsletter edition. Compose your content using the article editor (supports headers, bold text, images, and embedded links). Aim for 400-800 words per edition. When ready, click Publish. LinkedIn will notify all your subscribers and display the newsletter in your profile.

Step 6: Promote your newsletter to grow subscribers

Share your newsletter on your LinkedIn feed with a post explaining what it covers and asking people to subscribe. Add a link to your newsletter in your LinkedIn profile Featured section, your email signature, and any other profiles you maintain. Mention it in relevant comments when the topic comes up organically.
