Starting April 5, 2024, Disney Parks will be introducing new characters and adventures to the popular Star Tours attraction at Walt Disney World, Disneyland Resort, and Disneyland Paris. The Star Wars-themed motion simulator ride will now feature destinations and characters from popular Disney+ series like Ahsoka, The Mandalorian, and Andor, adding to the total number of potential storylines riders can experience to 250.

Star Tours has a long history of upgrades since it first opened at Disneyland Park in 1987, allowing guests to virtually travel to the Moon of Endor and beyond in a galaxy far, far away. The attraction expanded to Disney’s Hollywood Studios, Tokyo Disneyland, and Disneyland Paris in subsequent years. In 2011, Star Tours underwent a major overhaul to include multiple storylines that would be randomly put together, and continued to add new story combinations based on new Star Wars movies like The Force Awakens and The Rise of Skywalker.

When Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge opened at Disneyland Park and Disney’s Hollywood Studios in 2019, Star Tours received another sequence that transported riders to Batuu, the planet themed around Galaxy’s Edge. The ability to experience different story combinations each time visitors ride Star Tours adds to the attraction’s appeal, making it a popular choice for guests who want to enjoy a unique experience with each visit to the theme parks.

For fans visiting the Disneyland Resort, the Season of the Force event from April 5 through June 2 offers even more Star Wars experiences. In addition to riding the updated Star Tours attraction, guests can watch the Fire of the Rising Moons show inside Galaxy’s Edge on nights when Disneyland Park has fireworks. Galaxy’s Edge will provide an alternative viewing spot with a Star Wars-themed score by John Williams, best enjoyed from specific locations like Black Spire Spaceport and the speeder garage.

Another Star Wars-themed attraction returning to Tomorrowland during this time is Hyperspace Mountain, a galactic-themed overlay on the popular Space Mountain ride. Select nights from April 16 through May 9 will also feature Star Wars Nite, a separately ticketed event at Disneyland Park with themed food and beverage options, a fan costume parade, character meet and greets, and more. These events and activities are sure to delight Star Wars fans of all ages.

Overall, the updates to Star Tours and the Season of the Force event at the Disneyland Resort offer fans of the Star Wars franchise new and exciting opportunities to immerse themselves in the galaxy far, far away. With the addition of characters and storylines from popular Disney+ series, as well as special events like Fire of the Rising Moons and Star Wars Nite, guests can enjoy a fully immersive and engaging experience that brings the beloved Star Wars universe to life in a whole new way.
