Gypsy Rose Blanchard Claps Back at ‘Strange’ Criticism From The View’s Sunny Hostin

Gypsy Rose Blanchard, a woman who served time in prison for the murder of her mother, expressed confusion over comments made by Sunny Hostin on The View about her rekindled love life with Ken Urker. Hostin was puzzled by the concept of falling in love with someone behind bars, stating that she doesn’t understand “prison love.” Blanchard, who had previously appeared on The View and received support from the panel, was taken aback by Hostin’s change in attitude towards her.

Blanchard and Urker first got engaged in 2018 but called off the engagement the following year. They connected through a prison pen pal program while she was serving her sentence for the murder of her mother, Dee Dee Blanchard. Hostin expressed confusion over the idea of forming romantic relationships with individuals who have committed such serious crimes, referencing Gypsy Rose’s past actions and questioning the fascination behind it.

In addition to her relationship with Urker, Blanchard also married Ryan Scott Anderson while still in prison in 2022. However, four months after her release in December 2023, Blanchard filed for divorce from Anderson and reconnected with Urker. They got matching tattoos and confirmed that they were back together, emphasizing their undeniable love and excitement for the future. Blanchard stressed that life is too short to not take a chance on love and that they are in a wonderful place in their relationship.

During her appearance on The View following her release from prison, Blanchard urged others in similar situations to seek help and find alternative ways out, reflecting on her own mistakes and expressing remorse. Despite the challenges they may face in the future, Blanchard and Urker are optimistic about their relationship and believe that their shared history has laid the perfect foundation for a new beginning. Blanchard’s journey, from serving time in prison to finding love and moving forward, highlights the complexities and challenges of relationships formed under difficult circumstances.
