Meta Introduces Additional Verification Elements for Business Subscription Package

Editor

Meta is now offering its Verification for Business subscription package to more brands in different countries, including Argentina, Mexico, Chile, Peru, France, and Italy. This package allows brands to purchase a blue checkmark for their Facebook and Instagram profiles. The expansion of this offering suggests that Meta is seeing positive signs and solid interest for this option, although the company has not shared any data on Meta Verified take-up yet.

The Verification for Business package now includes four increasingly higher-priced verification options for brands, with a range of add-on benefits at each price point. The costs for individual profiles are displayed as greyed out prices, with Meta offering cheaper prices as an introductory offer for new subscribers. After a year, subscribers will be paying the crossed-out amount for an individual profile. The highest priced tier costs $499 per month, or a combined $699.98 per month for verifying both Facebook and Instagram profiles.

The new add-ons in the Verification for Business package include enhanced profile options, search optimization, featured account displays, links in Reels, employee impersonation protection, customized messaging chats, and account reviews from Meta experts for top-tier subscribers. These add-ons come at significantly higher price points, but may be worth it for brands that can benefit from additional features such as more links in Reels and enhanced profile options.

While the value of the new account review option remains to be seen, Meta is confident that it will provide more value, as it is the only element that is unique to the top-tier package. Brands that are heavily invested in Facebook or Instagram promotions may find value in these new add-ons, especially if they are already spending a significant amount on advertising. However, it may be wise to wait and see what value big brands are getting out of these packages before signing up.

Overall, brands now have more options to consider when purchasing a blue checkmark for their Facebook and Instagram profiles. The value of the blue checkmark itself may be eroded by selling it, but the new add-ons included in Meta’s Verification for Business package could provide more benefits that make it worth considering for some brands. It is recommended to carefully evaluate the cost and benefits of these packages before making a decision to purchase.
