These posters described him as a professional actor seeking any kind of role in the industry, even extra work. Due to the success of this tactic, Perino decided to use it again in his search for a girlfriend.
In his latest attempt to find love, Perino hung up around 40,000 posters around the East Village asking for a girlfriend. The flyers featured a photo of himself and his phone number, along with the message “I’m looking for a girlfriend”. The response to these flyers was overwhelming, with Perino receiving numerous calls, some of which were pranks, and dates. However, the attention became too much for him to handle, so he eventually stopped hanging up the posters.
Despite not finding a love match through his flyer campaign, Perino documented his experiences in a book and a documentary, both titled “Looking for a Girlfriend”. He then turned to online dating but found that he preferred the excitement of receiving calls from his flyers. This time around, Perino is not just looking for a girlfriend but is searching for the perfect woman, although he struggles to define what that means aside from being young, attractive, and not a stalker.
Perino’s latest round of flyers has led to around 2,000 phone calls and thousands of texts in just the first two days. To avoid being stopped frequently by strangers recognizing him on the street, he now wears disguises when he goes out. Despite the overwhelming response, Perino has not yet selected a date but plans to sift through his options soon. He finds the experience of receiving so much attention both exciting and entertaining, viewing it as a fun activity to partake in.
The singleton’s previous experiences with posting flyers for various purposes, such as seeking acting roles and a girlfriend, have proved successful in attracting public interest. The attention he receives from his actions has not only been useful in his quest for love but has also led to the creation of a book and a documentary based on his experiences.
