WiiM has announced the release of two new audiophile streaming devices, the WiiM Ultra and the WiiM Amp Pro, aimed at the high end of its wireless audio streaming devices. Both devices support AirPlay 2, Chromecast, DLNA, and other streaming protocols and are set to be available this summer. Equipped with a 32-bit / 384kHz ES9038 Q2M Sabre DAC (compared to the ES9018 Sabre DAC used in last year’s Wiim Amp), the devices also feature Wi-Fi 6E and Bluetooth 5.3 for wireless connectivity and boast a sleek Mac Studio-inspired design. They are also equipped with automatic room-tuning capabilities.

The WiiM Ultra features a 3.5mm touchscreen on the front next to the volume knob, allowing users to display app widgets, album art, playback controls, and various audio and input / output settings. On the back side, it includes an HDMI ARC port, optical and RCA jacks, and a phono input – a feature exclusive to the Ultra. The WiiM Amp Pro, on the other hand, bears strong resemblance to the WiiM Amp with minor differences such as support for Wi-Fi 6E and Bluetooth 5.3 compared to Wi-Fi 5 and Bluetooth 5.0 in the Amp. It also boasts a higher signal-to-noise ratio of 120dB, in contrast to the Amp’s 98dB.

The WiiM Ultra is priced at $329, while the Amp Pro will be available for $369 when they are released in the third quarter in the US. It remains unclear whether the standard $299 WiiM Amp will continue to be part of the company’s lineup following the launch of the new devices. Both the WiiM Ultra and the WiiM Amp Pro are set to deliver high-quality audio performance and enhanced connectivity options for audiophiles and music enthusiasts looking for premium streaming solutions.

With their advanced features, including support for various streaming protocols, high-quality DACs, Wi-Fi 6E, Bluetooth 5.3, and automatic room-tuning capabilities, the WiiM Ultra and WiiM Amp Pro promise to offer a premium audio streaming experience for users. The addition of a touchscreen display on the Ultra and the inclusion of a phono input on the back side set these devices apart from their predecessors. The Amp Pro, with its improved signal-to-noise ratio and connectivity options, is positioned as a more advanced version of the WiiM Amp, catering to a discerning audiophile audience.

The sleek design inspired by the Mac Studio gives the WiiM Ultra and WiiM Amp Pro a modern and sophisticated look, complementing their high-end audio performance capabilities. The pricing of the devices reflects their positioning in the premium segment of the market, offering customers the opportunity to experience top-notch audio quality and advanced features in a wireless streaming setup. With the summer release date approaching, audiophiles and music enthusiasts can look forward to adding these cutting-edge streaming devices to their home audio systems for a superior listening experience.

Overall, the introduction of the WiiM Ultra and WiiM Amp Pro signifies WiiM’s commitment to delivering top-of-the-line audio streaming solutions for consumers seeking high-fidelity sound reproduction and advanced connectivity options. The combination of advanced DAC technology, wireless connectivity standards, automatic room-tuning capabilities, and premium design makes these devices stand out in the competitive audio streaming market. As they hit the market this summer, the WiiM Ultra and WiiM Amp Pro are set to provide music lovers with a new level of audio quality and convenience in their streaming setups, elevating their listening experience to new heights.
