I Post LinkedIn Polls That Get 3X Engagement in 2026

How to Post a LinkedIn Poll: A step-by-step Guide

Step 1: Start a new post on LinkedIn

From your LinkedIn homepage, click the Start a post field at the top of your feed. This opens the post composer window.

Step 2: Select the Poll option

In the post composer, look for the icons at the bottom. Click the More icon (looks like a grid or three dots depending on your device) and select Create a poll. The poll builder will appear.

Step 3: Write your question and answer options

Type your poll question in the Question field (up to 140 characters). Add up to 4 answer options (each up to 30 characters). Focus on a clear, single-question format with distinct answer choices.

Step 4: Set the poll duration

Choose how long the poll will run: 1 day, 3 days, 1 week, or 2 weeks. Polls running 1 week or 2 weeks typically get more total votes. Click Done to return to the post composer.

Step 5: Add context and post

In the post text area above the poll, add 1-2 sentences of context explaining why you are asking this question or what you will do with the results. This increases response rate significantly. Click Post to publish.
